The story of Singular begins with two young talented people, both, interested in IT and hungry for success, Akaki Meladze and George Shamugia. These two prize-winning high-school students grew up to be passionate business people who believed they can make a difference.In 2006 Shamux went to London to study IT in 2006 and Akaki followed in 2007, studying BA. Continuing their competition track they started participating in App Contests, Over-the-Air Hackathons, worked with Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, and Vodafone. They even started selling unreleased prototype models on eBay and developed the MVP of Vodafone developer community Betavine – Vodafone 360 platform.The dream for starting their own business grew stronger.

After college, together with Judy Parkers they formed– My ITstudio focusing on projects for building websites.  This was their first attempt for a start up in London, and their first failure as well, or “lesson learned” as we, at Singular, like to call it.The two ambitious college grads returned from London in their hometown Tbilisi with a big dream and lots of ideas. Beginnings were hard and messy, but the vision was always clear. Nothing less than outstanding was acceptable.
Their idea of outstanding soon became to be Singular.

It was not long before the team started creating innovative, “out of the box” products. In April 2010 they organized the First iTv conference and gave birth to trends like QR codes and livestreaming conferences. However, the Georgian consumer market was small and monetization channels were extremely hard. Another lesson learned.

2011 marked the inaugural success of Singular with the strategic partnership with the Bank of Georgia to promote customizable plastic cards. The team delivered 14 different projects in 1 month for Bank of Georgia’s largest re-branding project in their history – “Feel the Future”.The success continued with the rising of APPS.GE via the ultimate SaaS model which brought in 50+ customers and 150,000 GEL revenue in 1 year. They got their first taste of fintech via mobile internet bank apps for Bank of Georgia and the Kerketi” mobile wallet system for Mobile Finance Eurasia.

The real take off began with the collaboration with Adjarabet when Darko Gacov joins the Singular Story. Backgammon and fantasy football were the first applications to assess the compatibility between the two companies. At that time Darko was heading Adjarabet and was the responsible person for the project at hand.This was the first exposure of the team to the gambling industry. The product became the best backgammon software on the market. Not to mention, the game overtook the competition in 3 months and doubled in player numbers. Darko recognized the potential of the Singular team and devoted extra time to help the team develop different product solutions resulting in a strategic partnership between Singular and Adjarabet.

Soon Singular realized they needed more creative, talented, outstanding people onboard. They wanted to bring some fresh perspective and add some diversity to the team. Following a thorough research of the possibilities for market with rich talent pool, they decided to open an office in Skopje, Macedonia. On 1st November 2013, the Singular MK team of 6 was born with Darko in the leadership role.The development of the CORE and the historic MIGRATION marked the new era for Singular and Adjarabet. The unprecedented partnership with Microgaming joined the development team with the aim to create best Poker product on the market which turned out to be the most successful poker migration in the industry.

In the first two months of working on the Sportsbook UI design, revenue increased by 25% and it continued to rise with the redevelopment of the product. Our Sportsbook started strong and grew to become one of our strongest products through constant innovation and frequent roll out of new features.

The real satisfaction comes from getting positive feedback from our clients but getting appreciation from the industry also brings pride. Singular exhibited at ICE Totally Gaming, the most prestigious event in the sports & entertainment industry. The team also got nominated in 4 different categories at the annual EGR B2B Awards show in Amsterdam.

The sports & entertainment community continued to recognize the value of Singular products by nominating us in several categories, both for EGR B2B Awards and SBCEcents. Throughout the years the product portfolio expanded substantially and maintenance alongside constant innovation became challenging. In order to stay ahead of the innovation curve in the industry we decided to refine our product palette and focus on three flagship products: Gaming Platform, Sportsbook, and Casino.

Today Singular is a fast-growing team of 170+ members with offices in Macedonia, Georgia, and headquarters in Malta. The three young men who started Singular have successfully transferred their passion to every single member of the team.
